秀吉天下一統の念持仏大随求菩薩公開

念持仏

　Kodaiji is a Zen temple established in 1606 by Madam Nene who donated her personal fortune in memory of her husband, the renowned unifier Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
　Our museum is currently hosting a special exhibition of the Bodhisattva statue, known as “the one who grants the wishes of all sentient beings.” This miraculous image is said to have, through its immense power, propelled Hideyoshi —who originated from a humble background — to become the unifier of Japan. It is believed that Hideyoshi acquired this statue during his childhood and carried it with him whenever he engaged in battle as a samurai.
　As this is a truly revered statue that bestows good fortune and success in one’s career, may the blessings of this Bodhisattva be bestowed upon all who are fortunate enough to view this statue.

　　高台寺 —— 曾一统天下的丰臣秀吉的正妻宁宁为祭奠其夫亡灵，投入私财于1606 年创建的禅寺。目前，本美术馆正在展示能够实现所有生灵善愿的大随求菩萨像。这尊充满不可思议神力的雕像曾以其广大神通，将出身卑微的秀吉托举为一统天下之人。秀吉孩提时代起就获得了这尊雕像，每次作为武士奔赴疆场之际都随身携带。因此，这尊能够带来幸福和事业有成的尊像，广为笃敬尊崇。
